If you liked Winters Bone... submitted by irenzero on July 10, 2011, 7:37pm Having just finished watching this I am left really not sure what to think. On the one hand it's a harrowing story about three sisters growing up in a dangerous house hold, caring for each other and making their lives around the people and reality around them. Without adults watching out for them they have to become adults much fast then they should. The story is nicely balanced, without do-gooder adults trying to save the sister, and without every unsavory adult trying to exploit them. Jennifer Lawrence is in command of the spotlight with a performance that is like a dry run for Winters Bone, Chloe Moretz steals her scenes when she is leaving a friends house, sitting at a bar or driving with her sisters. Credit also goes to writer director Lori Petty (point break, Tank Girl) who has now joined Ida Lupino and Drew Barrymore in the ranks of actresses turned directors. Check it out.
