Read by Mark Boyett.
Leaving behind a world on the brink of destruction, man came to the Red planet and found the Martians waiting, dreamlike. Seeking the promise of a new beginning, man brought with him his oldest fears and his deepest desires. Man conquered Mars -- and in that instant, Mars conquered him. The strange new world with its ancient, dying race and vast, red-gold deserts cast a spell on him, settled into his dreams, and changed him forever. Here are the captivating chronicles of man and Mars -- the modern classic by the peerless Ray Bradbury.

Greetings from Mars submitted by bookwormj on June 22, 2011, 5:25pm First I'd like to say, good job for not getting to Mars people! Ray Bradbury has a bitter outlook on how life would work if Americans and others went up to Mars. His short stories include aliens shooting earth men, and themselves, earthmen forming colonies, naming landmarks after themselves, crew members going crazy, the list goes on and on. If you like science fiction, social studies, imagination, or sad books that aren't too sad, and are also oddly humorous, these are the stories for you!

Interesting Style submitted by yojasor on June 21, 2013, 5:45pm I loved this book. It's definitely a bit out of date on scientific information, but it's still very enjoyable. It's a bit confusing when you first begin reading because Bradbury doesn't stick with the same characters at all, but by the end I realized the the story is about Mars, not about the people living there. I had never seen that kind of writing style before, so it helped me expand my horizons a little. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Classic submitted by dahyatt on July 16, 2016, 7:21pm This book is one that all science fiction fans must read.
