Read by Anne Nelson.
The Rote Kapelle, or Red Orchestra, was the Gestapo's name for an intrepid band of German artists, intellectuals, and bureaucrats (almost half of them women) who battled treacherous odds to unveil the secrets of their fascist employers and oppressors. This is the story of this seldom chronicled group of ordinary Germans in Berlin who through their contacts in film, theater, propoganda, academia, government, and the military, worked together to bring down the Nazis.
