The other side of Scandal in Bohemia submitted by KathyD on August 17, 2011, 7:38pm In the traditional Sherlock Holmes stories, only in Scandal in Bohemia is Holmes outwitted by a woman, opera singer Irene Adler. In this novel, we hear her side of the story as reported by her friend Penelope Huxleigh in a Watson-like role. We find that Ms. Adler also occasionally works as a consulting detective. The author does a great job at intertwining Irene and Penelope's adventures with the original Holmes stories.
