fun and educational

So the main body of the book is a little wordy, but the beginning is not and the fun illustrations and interesting facts will pull you right in!
This book was a lot of fun as well as educational, I recommend it a lot.
We love it submitted by jamieyang8 on June 23, 2022, 11:39am We love it that the main character is an Asian-looking boy, something my son could relate to, It's a wordy picture book, but it's informational, and we learned a lot about redwoods, such as a fun read before a California trip.
From the Big City to the Big Forest submitted by Meginator on July 25, 2022, 10:37pm This book takes readers for a journey alongside a main character who begins reading this very book in the New York City subway and who finds himself transported to California’s redwood forests. Along with making the transformative power of reading quite literal, with a nice additional metafictional touch at the end, the book offers plenty of fascinating information about redwoods and the ecosystems they support. By centering the illustrations on a character who is learning alongside the reader, Jason Chin makes the book’s educational components feel less dense and more accessible. This book is a testament both to the power of reading and to the magnificence of these trees.
