Go Sookie Go! submitted by klsyking on July 19, 2011, 11:46am I absolutely love this series. I consider myself a really harsh critic when it comes to books, especially pop books, but I just love how spunky and fun Charlaine Harris's writing is, even if it's not the highest quality ever. The story lines are a little contrived and the books get more and more ridiculous throughout, but this is escapism at its finest. The book on tape narrator really brings the story alive. I've read all of the books and am currently listening to them all again, just because listening to the narrator is so much fun!

Yet more Sookie submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 15, 2013, 6:11pm In Charlaine Harris' ninth Southern vampire mystery novel, the weres (including, but not only werewolves) and supernaturals (those who can shapeshift into any animal) come out of the closet, much as vampires did a few years earlier. This includes Sookie's boss, Sam, at the restaurant. Not everyone reacts well. In fact, Sam's human step-father shoots Sam's shapeshifter mother.
This book is not Nobel-prize-worthy, but it is fun brain candy and a guilty pleasure for anyone who enjoys vampire books and mysteries.
Those who enjoy the "True Blood" TV series will probably love the books on which the series is based even more.
