oddly compelling submitted by lisa on August 26, 2015, 3:25pm It took more attention to follow this one than I thought it would, but it was worth it. You know how you really can't count on anyone, or at least you really hope not to find that out? Poor Burt. Poor earnest Burt.

The "bit" players are especially great. The bartender. The barfly woman. The specialist criminal. The thug with the accent. Dig 'em.

Solid noir, not the best, far from the worst submitted by Will O on August 25, 2020, 7:57pm Most noirs follow a pattern and this is no different but it still was a little above average for me.
It was cool to see old timey L.A. and the acting was pretty good across the board but the end was what made me enjoy it more than usual with a very dark final shot even for a noir. Worth a watch for fans of the genre.
