An interesting vibe submitted by terpsichore17 on August 12, 2019, 11:31am Kurt Wallander seems one part disillusioned, one part tired, and one part awkward. The scenarios in this first season - ritualistic axe killings, a shadowy group trying to use computer codes to destroy all fiscal records, trying to figure out what a murdered man found out before he died - seemed like an attempt to capitalize on the few remaining spheres of mystery in this empirical age (though I've since heard from a friend that Swedish storytelling is just Like That).
