Watch for Commentary! The Musical submitted by PBS on June 26, 2011, 10:35am You might be wondering to yourself, "Why should I check out the DVD of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog, when I can just get it online?" The answer is a bonus feature on this DVD, Commentary! The Musical. That's right, not only is the feature a musical, but the commentary is also sung. This amazing project is very successful, making fun of musicals, commentaries, and itself, with such songs as "There's No Asians on TV," "Ninja Ropes," and "I'm Better than Neil." Enjoy!

Silly and Great submitted by crazypockets on August 2, 2013, 2:54pm This is a musical by Joss Whedon originally made exclusively for the internet. As far as I know, that was actually kind of an experimental concept at the time, or at least it was for someone who was already an established film/television maker. It seems like Whedon just wanted to do something silly in his off-time with his friends, and you can't help but feel the light-hearted fun aspect of that. Neil Patrick Harris, in my opinion, made his real comeback with this one, and Nathan Fillion is hilarious as a not-so-heroic hero.

I love how once again Whedon took a concept that most people would think is self-explanatory (heroes vs. villains) and completely flipped it all on its head in the funniest way possible. He is a master at that. The only thing I do think he could improve on (and I'm sure there are a lot of much higher-trained people out there than me who would disagree) is his musical writing. Maybe I just don't like his style, and I understand that he's writing for singers who frankly aren't used to singing, but a lot of the note arrangements kind of got to me. But then, I'm sure I've been spoiled on more traditional musical movies for so long, my opinion might be skewed.

Regardless, this doesn't change the fact that I really love this musical and think it's worth checking out, Whedon fan or no.

Watch this now! submitted by beeniepie on August 11, 2013, 11:14am Whedon flexed his musical muscles in, "Once More With Feeling" on Buffy, and shows us how to do a musical with Dr. Horrible. Everything about this musical is on point. The ensemble cast delivers a solid performance and despite the light-hearted nature, resonates true sadness in the end of our hero's journey.

Hilarious submitted by lstorc on August 31, 2018, 11:17pm This was fantastically hilarious! The caricatures were over the top. It was truly enjoyable!
