After hearing of the heroic death of a young Marine in Iraq, veteran officer Lt. Colonel Michael Strobl volunteers to escort the remains of Lance Corporal Chance Phelps back to his hometown in Wyoming. As Strobl crosses America's heartland, he will find himself on an unexpectedly emotional journey into the soul of a country mourning not only Chance, but all of our country's fallen heroes.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

slow and boring submitted by Jackie77 on August 8, 2015, 10:18am My condolences to Marine Chance Phelps family and friends. This movie was slow and dragged on however. They could have spent more time focusing on him as a person and marine, rather than jsut scenes of Kevin returning his body home. I wanted to stop watching because of that, but felt I would be disrespecting Chance if I did. The point could have gotten across in half the time.

Honoring Fallen Heroes submitted by smgop on August 31, 2017, 8:34am While this movie may have moved slowly, its impact was keenly felt by me and my family. The honor that was shown to this fallen soldier all across the board was wonderful and heart-wrenching at times.

Fascinating submitted by cldaniels on July 22, 2021, 7:30pm The moive moved me from the start, as it portrayed the tender respect given to each fallen soldier from death til they are fully escorted home.

In memory submitted by m steve on July 8, 2022, 7:19pm This is a rather touching movie about sacrifice and efforts taken by one army officer to honor that sacrifice. This is worth a look.

Taking Chance submitted by DBogie on June 9, 2023, 12:48pm Yearly on Memorial weekends I watch this movie out of respect.
