Some of my favorite vampires submitted by marshd on June 23, 2011, 4:17pm I read L. J. Smith's works when I was younger; they came out in the 90s. Out of all the Night World books, this volume has nearly all my favorites, so I would recommend it to anyone interested in vampire fiction. You do not really need to read the Night World series in order, since the characters are usually not in more than one book. My two favorite stories are Huntress and Black Dawn. Huntress is amusing and endearing. Black Dawn brings princes and slaves into the vampire world, which usually makes for a good plot. Witchlight is about a shapeshifter, which are not as common in the Night World series.
