Great for sparking discussion, I suspect

(Note: I wrote this review when I read the book in May 2009)
While I understand most of what the author is talking about (in the way we judge other moms and ourselves), it's just not where I'm at right now. While I certainly can identify things I could do better at (especially in the housekeeping and wife departments), I think I do a pretty good job with my kids. While I want to go back to the paid work force eventually (I love being a social worker), being at home with the kids is what I want to do right now.
I suspect there are a lot of mothers out there who would read this book and heave a huge sigh of relief that the judgments they assign and perceive aren't just them, but this wasn't the right book for me right now.
I do think it would spark huge amounts of wonderful discussion in a book club, though.
