Shinee won't disappoint.

K-Pop Boy-Band Throwback submitted by Meginator on August 11, 2021, 4:50pm This album is such a perfect encapsulation of that late-90s/early-00s boy band and girl group sound that I’m actually astonished it took me so long to find it. Well, the joke’s on me here, because Shinee execute their tribute style perfectly, tapping into that classic energy and turning it into something that has more of an edge to it while sticking closely to its influences. I don’t speak Korean, but given the translated song titles and the English-language lyrics, I’m guessing the lyrical content is typical boy-band fare; what’s compelling is that the group’s meaning is clear even when you’ve only got the overall sound to go on. This album is so much fun, and any fan of teen pop from the turn of the millennium is going to love this.
