First. Best? submitted by rkraut on August 31, 2012, 3:40pm So far this is my favorite of the Red Blazer Girls, which focus on a set of girls in NYC who are in a Catholic school and who are intrepid mystery solvers.

mostly enjoyable

The story was mostly enjoyable - decent plot, interesting puzzles / clues that the girls have to solve, realistic relationships. However, I'm not sure if it was the reader or the text (I listened to the BOCD), but Sophie especially comes off as way too snarky at times. Also, do 7th graders really drink that much coffee? (These kids don't act like the 7th graders in my family, although I will admit that my 3 are all boys and we don't live in NYC! They all have been relatively free range at that point, but nowhere near that sophisticated!)
Note that I'm currently listening to the 2nd book because I'd already checked it out, so these drawbacks weren't enough to put me off entirely!
