COMMUNITY REVIEWS

B is for Beer history submitted by deets on August 8, 2011, 2:10pm I grabbed this book from the library shelf on impulse. The cute title, and an intriguing description as a children's book for adults, or an adult book for children...

The story is told in the first person, the viewpoint of a curious six year old girl who simply wants to know what's up with beer. A grown man writing as a six year old girl takes a lot of suspension of disbelief, but despite the obvious implausibility of her character, B is for beer is a fun, light read that taught me quite a lot about beer's process and history. (I did not/do not consider myself knowledgeable in the subject)
The character of the philosophical hippie-ish uncle is amusing, and most of the book revolves around the little girl and the "crazy" relative.

If you're looking for a light read, filled with sarcasm and wit, and a little scathing commentary on hypocrisy, this may be what you're looking for.

Amusing quick read submitted by kencza on August 14, 2020, 3:19pm For adults and youth this fantasy romp is full of Robbins-isms in style and mental images. The story flows nicely with the fairy, eccentric uncle, and Gracie taking you on a most unusual trip and a visit to a brewery with the science of the brewing process.
