crazy town submitted by Jackie77 on August 24, 2015, 8:49pm Crazy movie, but good crazy. The little boy riding the tricycle was very creepy. Jack plays his part oflosing touch with reality wonderfully.

great submitted by manz on July 7, 2019, 4:20pm King might hate this adaptation, but it's far superior to the later one. And is a fantastic film.

The Shining submitted by crp on August 6, 2019, 7:19pm Jack Nicholson is amazing here; very scary and not suitable for young kids

Residual fear submitted by ccrose on August 25, 2019, 8:03pm Honestly, moments from this very well done story are still in my head:
“He-e-ere’s Johnnny!” Nicholson brays through the jagged hole he’s slashed in bathroom door with an axe.
The child, who has a perception of evil in the hotel, writes on the bathroom mirror and chants as if in a trance, louder and with more frantic insistence: REDRUM-REDRUM (Murder-murder!!)
This movie was made with care, great support from set design, support actor Scatman Scruthers
There’s effective torquing the fear to terror
Down to the last minute. Please no children . This is equivalent of a lifetime of nightmares.

Still creeps me out submitted by pepemama on June 19, 2020, 2:09pm So well done. This is not a horror movie - it a psychological examination of a man who is susceptible and gives in. Gives up. And falls apart. Love this darn creepy movie. One of those movies they should never ever ever ever remake. All the actors are perfect in their respective roles. From Mr. Halloran to Danny to Wendy, and everyone else.

Still scary submitted by sara on August 16, 2020, 11:07am Even though I knew what was going to happen, I was still scared watching it again.
