Preferred the film submitted by EJZ on July 23, 2018, 8:11pm I loved the movie so I thought I'd read the book. It was not very scary, though it was intense at times. I'd attribute my lack of enthusiasm over the book to my previous movie experience, as the book follows quite closely to the film adaptation at times. The book does have quite a few interesting plotlines that the movie lacked, and it was also interesting to see the decisions the film makers made in adapting it to the screen.
