Interesting submitted by Zekicmom on July 11, 2013, 5:55pm For fans of Sesame Street, this is a very in depth look at the beginings of the show, as well as many years leading up to it. There is a lot of background of early television programs for children, which is interesting and relevant, but it should be known that this is not just about Sesame Street. It's a warts and all book, so if someone wants to remember everyone who ever appeared on this show or any of the other, even earlier children's shows as only sweet, loving, gentle people, consider yourself warned - they weren't all perfect angels. This is NOT a book for children.

Very good (though the beginning could be edited) submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on August 12, 2018, 10:48am After the first 150 pages, this was absolutely wonderful -- fast-paced, interesting, insightful. Just fascinating to read.

The first 150 pages needed to be edited down by about 20-30%. They cover the background history of each of the main players who were integral in conceiving and bringing to the screen Sesame Street. But they do so down to the level of each person's childhood and what people and factors influenced their eventual decision to work with puppets for children's television. It was interesting, just not quite 150 pages' worth.

Still, on the whole the book was really neat. Well worth the read.
