Great new twist on the Dark Knight submitted by AMP35 on November 3, 2009, 10:00am Frank Miller and Jim Lee, two of the best in the comic book industry team up for a great change of pace story featuring the Dark Knight and the Boy Wonder. While it may be just a retelling of the origins of the Dynamic Duo Frank Miller does a good job on tweaking the characters we thought we knew. Robin remains relatively the same but it's Frank Miller's Batman that makes the story great. He's has absolutely ruthless methods when dealing with the criminal underworld as well as with Robin. Batman has a dark sense of humor and can sometimes be as sadistic as the Joker himself and although it seems that he has lost complete control of himself he struggles many times throughout the story to mentally regain his composure. Many hardcore and older Batman fans may not like this story that much but some of the teenage and young adult Batman fans will probably find this as a refreshing retelling of Batman. The story is comical as well as dark, the art by Jim Lee is great, and the story furthers the point of Batman insanity and genius. If your into a darker Batman with dark humor this is the Batman you've been looking for.

Terrible submitted by wampishing on August 2, 2013, 5:33pm Frank Miller is like a parody of himself in this comic, and that is not a good thing. The books starts off darkly absurd, and then spirals out of control. It's completely messy storytelling, with terrible characterization all around. Miller's Wonder Woman is so horrifying a straw feminist that it makes me physically ill. It's too bad, since Lee's artwork is quite nice. It's wasted on this mess of a book which tries far too hard to be edgy and shocking but ends up being shockingly bad.
