Peter has his heart broken by Sarah Marshall, his girlfriend of five years. Sarah is an actress on a television crime series. After breaking up with Peter, she moves on with her life and her new boyfriend, Aldous, a British rock star. Peter is devastated, and after trying unsuccessfully to put her out of his mind, he decides to take a vacation to Hawaii to unwind. Unfortunately for Peter, Hawaii is also the chosen destination of Sarah and Aldous. Of course, they end up at the same hotel, and in adjoining rooms. The hotel staff is sympathetic to Peter's problem, especially Rachel, and they encourage him to forget Sarah.

A Raunchy Comedy That Is Actually Good submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 11:00am I’m not generally a fan of the raunchy comedies that gained traction in the mid-00s, but this one has enough story and chemistry behind it that I can overlook the provocative-for-their-own sake jokes that are a bit too much for me otherwise. The acting is surprisingly good for a film this overtly preoccupied with its own silliness, with everyone taking full control of their roles and Jason Segal and Mila Kunis finding effortless chemistry that sells their characters’ relationship. Add in a couple of hilarious Dracula-themed musical number and some genuine emotional development and you’ve got a raunch-com that is (perish the thought) actually good. That said, do be aware that the film’s unrated version includes full-frontal male nudity and quite a few jokes about sex, drugs, and rock and roll.
