Speed Metal Cranked to 11 submitted by Meginator on July 4, 2019, 1:00am This album offers a nonstop onslaught of full-powered speed metal, it is completely ridiculous, and it is so much fun. The wailing lead guitar rolls quickly over equally frenetic riffs and drums, giving the album a consistently out-of-control feel that surrounds the listener with a wall of sound; it’s not at all subtle, but it definitely works. DragonForce hammers away at the lyrics with similar gusto, with excellent harmonies anchoring the choruses against the background complexity. This album definitely won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, and even taken on its own terms it seems a little out there, but it’s a non-stop thrill ride that forces you to sit up and pay attention.
