Great 80s Horror submitted by Sonia on July 21, 2017, 7:38am Carpenter is a great horror director and this movie is no exception. The special effects have aged very little over the years and it remains a great, suspenseful thriller where you are constantly wondering who is the bad guy.

Meh submitted by mandevil on September 26, 2020, 12:45pm Underwhelming. Would i watch it again-no.

Amazing submitted by mtebo on June 25, 2022, 11:01am Probably my all-time favorite horror movie! Great actors and special effects, and a riveting plot. Highly recommend!

A classic submitted by brooksza on August 15, 2022, 11:33am One of the best. Nothing wasted except flamethrower fuel.

I love how this is a snowy western.

Every time I see young Kurt Russell on screen, I'm reminded what great James Gunn did with Guardians of the Galaxy 2 casting.

Keith David should narrate everything.

Prime Horror submitted by frdozzi on August 22, 2023, 10:05pm This movie is the template for claustrophobic horror & paranoia. But even better than that, it shows the power & effectiveness of practical effects (this is where The Thing [2011] really disappoints). And on top of all of that is the casting, not only do the "big" stars (Kurt Russell, Keith David, Wilford Brimley) shine, but the rest of the acting is excellent and keeps the plot engaging.
