A couple staying at an isolated vacation home, returns from a wedding reception. They receive a knock on the door in the middle of the night. What ensues is a violent invasion by three strangers, their faces hidden behind masks. As the night goes on, the reality of their psychological terror becomes more terrifying than anything both could have imagined. Now, they must go beyond what either of them thought they were capable of in order to survive. Inspired by true events.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Scary Writing, Boring Movie submitted by nadirah on November 2, 2008, 8:23pm Considering the subject matter, one would hope for this movie to move a bit more quickly, especially since it's not even an hour and a half long. The first 60 of the 86 minute film (88 minute "extended" unrated version) is a painfully slow-moving set-up for the main action, if one can call it that. This movie has similar elements of The Blair Witch Project... unfortunately.

Some shocking events but ultimately falls flat submitted by klickitat on August 22, 2012, 12:59pm One of those horror/thriller movies that ends with you saying, "So what?" The situation is definitely creepy and I didn't see one critical scene coming but I feel like this movie ultimately doesn't quite live up to its potential. I thought the Wikipedia entry for the Keddie Cabin Murders was more creepy than the movie it inspired. STRANGERS also loses points for its cliche ending, setting it up for a possible sequel.

Although I will give it this: I will never again listen to "Mama Tried" by Merle Haggard without a faint sense of faint dread.
