Not Anne McCaffrey submitted by sally.m.maier on June 19, 2023, 6:44pm Just a warning to readers, this book is Not written by Anne McCaffrey, and it shows. Todd may be playing in the same sandbox, but the writing, characterization, and plot are lacking. If you go in knowing that, the story’s fine enough. It’s not master work, but it’s fine. It doesn’t progress or add anything to Pern overall, but it can’t really as the series is properly wrapped up at this point.

We’ve all wanted to write fanfiction in the Pern universe, and Todd, by dint of birthright, gets to do so. It’s not amazing, but it’s fine enough.
