speedy movie submitted by honordenver on June 26, 2011, 4:51pm A great movie once I watched it once I had to whatch it 50 more times. It's kind of hard to understand the movie towards the end but it's easy to comprehend it if you watch it over and over again and pay a-lot of attention. The movie was still great over all ,my favorite character is the monkey.

better movie... submitted by lekendrick on February 9, 2012, 1:46am I'd not expected speed racer be this good! But, it's visually interesting & the plot grabs you goes in interesting directions is in a style reminding dick tracy w/ mobsters moving by tractor trailer the performances & repeated explanation of such long running culturally iconic series worked in well course film excellent!

A family with a monkey that builds speed cars submitted by mandevil on November 27, 2018, 3:15am Lots of special effects but the best is watching the monkey

original fan submitted by mellonir on January 2, 2019, 4:08pm I think it's because I'm original fan-boy of the original show that I think they tried too hard on this movie. If the plot and screenplay had been like the TV show, it would have worked and they could have kept the action and adventure, the intrigue and suspense, the sappiness and comic relief (via Spritle and Chim Chim)!
Instead they went overboard; the movie was more outrageous than the TV show, probably to appeal to the youth of today (or 2008).
The car props were great, and the music paid homage to the original score, but movie itself tried to be bigger than it needed to be.
