Great trilogy, though liked the first and third best
submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on July 27, 2019, 4:55pm
I enjoyed _Scarlet_ less than the first of the series (_Hood_), I think because I didn't find the premise that Will Scarlet was doing most of the storytelling to be necessary or compelling. It simply wasn't believable to me that a Welsh serf could report out the story like was narrated, and I was never quite able to get that out of my head.
Beyond that, however, the basic story of Bran fighting to regain his throne against the Freinc invaders continued to be compelling, and there was no way that I was going to skip the third book (which I gave 4 stars again). Keep going... the trilogy is definitely worthwhile! (Although why the AADL doesn't have the first book -- Hood -- is a mystery to me! Get it from MelCat and start there... it's worth your time!)
