amazing submitted by marisal on July 29, 2011, 10:59am This movie is amazing!

Read the books first submitted by ferdoble on August 2, 2011, 5:42pm These are ok. I was hard on them at first because of the corny computer animation and what I thought were bad decisions on what to put in (and I still feel that way). Not to mention that its hard to find good actors in the 10 and 11 range.

But the movies get better and better and all the way to being pretty good. To the point where I now look forward to watching the last of them. Well, not really looking forward to the last of them, it was too sad a book for me to really want to see the movie.

If I can say one thing it’s that you should read the books first. The real magic is in those books, I think that you’ll miss out on a lot if you do it the other way round.

And neither of the actors playing Dumbledoor got it right. I’m not sure if a human could, but neither one of them even got close.

Good, but read the books first submitted by jkl on August 10, 2011, 4:21pm You should really read the books first, it will let you imagine things on you own! I really liked this movie it was one of the better ones in the series, with a great plot (duh), decent special effects and really good acting. Seemed like some of the important parts were missing but it's kinda hard to fit everything in.

Amazing submitted by mysterio on June 27, 2012, 4:59am It's not everyday a movie series comes along that mixes magic, action, friendship, and ... Quidditch. The Harry Potter movies do all that and more, delighting fans of J.K. Rowling's books while also entertaining those new to the Potterverse. Like the books, the movies do get darker and more intense as the series progresses, so make sure your little Harry, Ron, and Hermione fans are ready for each new chapter before moving on.

Sorcerer's Stone submitted by SBNB on July 1, 2012, 5:21pm This was a great beginning to a great series. The movie, for me, is a classic. When I need a Harry Potter fix, this is the one I turn to. The movie stayed with the book with only a few details omitted, and it is entertaining from start to finish.

harry potter submitted by a2sue on July 16, 2013, 7:39pm I simply don't understand the fascination with these movies or books

nice to revisit submitted by camelsamba on July 20, 2017, 9:13pm One of my teens has been inspired to revisit the Harry Potter series because earlier this summer we (re-) listened to book 7 during a road trip. After reading the first book, he watched the movie - so I watched it alongside him. Apparently we wouldn't let him watch the scene with Quirrel and Voldemort when he was younger. It's fun to revisit the early days when you know the entire story arc: for example, in book 7 Harry finds a letter from Lily which mentions him zooming around on a broom as a baby. Similarly, it's fun to revisit these actors when you know what they have matured into.

Great movie submitted by jiac on June 16, 2018, 4:49pm This is a great movie. Very true to the book.

Magical submitted by anacoluthon on August 19, 2018, 4:18pm Movies never do books justice, but the early Harry Potter films are enjoyable in their own right.

Great movie! submitted by Xris on August 26, 2018, 1:08am This movie brought the world of Harry Potter to life! (Though I miss Peeves in the whole series of movies.) I wish I had gotten a letter on my 11th birthday and could have gone to Hogwarts!
