A Great Start! submitted by alumeng.ajl on July 4, 2012, 9:24am I've heard a lot of really good things about this series, so I finally decided to pick it up. And I absolutely loved it! I can't wait to read the next book. I'm hoping that the series doesn't catch the sophomore slump.
Exciting submitted by pamhockey25 on July 5, 2012, 11:20am The first of a series of three Darkest Powers paranormal books aimed at young adults. As a Kelley Armstrong fan I wanted to check them out despite not being the demographic the book was written for. That being said, I really enjoyed the series. This is the story of Chloe Sanders, who turns out NOT to be your average teenage girl. She can see ghosts, and it isn't fun. She ends up at Lyle House (owned by the Edison Group), a home for mentally-ill teens where the rest of the characters are introduced. All the teens in the home have special abilities and are being manipulated. You meet Simon (a sorcerer), and Derek (a werewolf), who are foster brothers, Rae (half fire-demon) and Tori (a witch) who you will also follow in the series. I recommend it.
Pretty good submitted by chasehyatt99 on June 18, 2014, 5:26pm It was relatively enjoyable. Some parts were a little slow and it didn't quite move fast enough for me. Also, spoilers in comments- please don't put spoilers, no matter how small they may be.
The Otherworld...But Not. submitted by mrajraspn08 on June 30, 2015, 9:33am Finally reading this after finishing the Otherworld series. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this can almost be read as a side series to that one--much of the mythology and history is the same. It's definitely aimed more for young adults, so I thought the plot was more cliched and predictable than Armstrong's other books. Still decent, just not quite as good as I'd hoped.
