One of the Strongest submitted by Meginator on August 26, 2020, 4:30pm Coming, as it does, after a spectacular two-disc run, this edition of Now That’s What I Call Music is a bit of a letdown- but only just. Featuring an excellent run of hits that are still familiar today, as well as a few forgotten tracks that hold up well and the expected dud or two, this album is yet another satisfying time capsule offering nostalgia and good tunes. Notably, many of the strongest tracks feature women, from Rihanna, Fergie, and a resurgent Britney Spears to Alicia Keys, Sara Bareilles (“Love Song” is timeless, a truly astonishing feat), Hayley Williams (of Paramore), and Taylor Swift (still in her country mode here). This offers a refreshing change of pace and solidifies Now That’s What I Call Music 27 as one of the better installments in the series.
