Such beauty submitted by EJZ on July 23, 2018, 8:03pm This work remains to date a collection of some of the most simple, charming, and rending stories I have ever read. They are beautiful in the most modest way, and they make you feel as though your innocence is being stolen from you from you as you read. Like viewing of Hayao Miyazaki's "Grave of the Fireflies," Kouno's stories about post-atomic Japan show the loss that the Japanese suffered in a way that draws you in, takes your heart, and breaks it completely. It's perfect.
