A Lady Victorian Detective submitted by gcn9 on September 15, 2009, 8:31am Billy Piper is a fine actress who is getting appreciated for work in other TV series but this series (2 films so far) is really a step in a different direction for her and it works. She looks and sounds terrific in the part of Sally Lockhart and the story is intricate and interesting.

Too violent submitted by jgetty on December 10, 2010, 12:01pm this is a Masterpiece Theater mystery. I didn't understand when I got the video that is a series, maybe? I liked the main character Billie Piper, she was strong and pretty. But this film was way too violent for me and disturbing. A throat gets cut and you see it all, including a long close up look at the severed neck afterwards. The mean lady character was pure evil, chilling, and the things she did were too violent. The fight scene was too violent. I watched the video, but closed my eyes on the neck slashing, and it was OK, but too much violence and dark personalities for me.
