Racist Children’s Book submitted by ksorini on August 31, 2021, 3:40pm This book promotes harmful racial stereotypes. The author incessantly attaches “ito” to the end of English words to make them sound as if they should be Spanish. She also mocks what a native Spanish speaker would sound like while speaking English. There are references to a lot of harmful tropes related to stinky things/people, food (his group of friends is Los Chimichangos), and impersonating a bandit. It’s really problematic.
