Cabling is EASY! submitted by crazypockets on November 18, 2011, 10:41am I was one of those people who thought I'd never be able to learn how to do those fancy-looking cables in my knitting. Then I took a look at this book and was surprised to learn that really they aren't that complicated at all even though they are usually very impressive to people. This book is a fantastic resource for any knitter who wants to jazz up his or her projects a little.
This book gives very easy-to-follow pattern instructions for several beautiful cables. Some of my favorites are the Irish Aran Diamond cable, Squiggles and Bumps cable, Enclosed cable, and the Butterfly cable.
It also provides some project patterns incorporating the previously-shown cable. Or you could just follow the swatch patterns and repeat over and over for a beautiful, elegant scarf.
Another really nice feature of this book is that it provides the written pattern as well as a chart, so if you have a preference either way for how you knit, it will accommodate. It also has a very useful index and glossary of stitches, so no more excuses, you intermediate knitters! You can do this!

I agree! submitted by sara on August 17, 2013, 7:18pm The best part of this book is that is gives written instructions for cables- most books only give charts, which are much more difficult to follow. Then these cables can be used for a sweater of your choice.
