COMMUNITY REVIEWS

great classic TV submitted by manz on January 14, 2011, 3:36pm The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, featuring the real life Nelson family, is pretty much my favorite classic TV show. Ozzie was goofy, Harriet was so wonderfully motherly, David was laid back and level headed, and Ricky, he was just dang cute, banging on his drum set- wich lead to a long stint as a teen idol. The TV show blurred the lines of television and reality, perhaps the first inkling of what we now call reality TV.

The Nelsons are an interesting bunch, with famous bloodlines all around. Of course, after being on the air for 14 years, the boys pretty much grew up with an audience, which I'm sure took its toll. Ozzie, the perfectionist, was pretty demanding as a father, particularly on the set.

Something must have been done right though, as it's the longest running live action sitcom in US history. (Cough, Simpson's, Cough.)

I'm walkin', yes indeed!
