I had heard good things about Close Encounters of the Third Kind and after I visited Devil's Tower National Monument while on vacation (which is a major part of the plot), I felt obliged to watch this movie. It was a horrible waste of two + hours of my life that could have been spent anything else (which probably would have been more worthwhile). The movie focuses on a man name Roy, who sees UFOs flying over his hometown. The movie seemed like it had potential at first but as it went on, it became more and more apparent that the story was going nowhere and had no actual plot. The story meandered without really going anywhere. Roy loses his mind, his family abandons him only for him to fall in love with another woman (who had also seen the UFOs and had her own son abducted) and Roy continually commits random acts of pure lunacy in the name of curiosity. In the end, he jeopardizes his life (as while as the lives of others) so that he can witness the aliens make contact with U.N. officials. All in the name of curiosity. If you're thinking of watching this movie, don't. It's two hours of Roy's over-the-top madness with no actual plot. Spend your two hours doing something (anything) else.
