Plame Wison story important in its implications
First of all, the stars--this powerful story deserved better from its publisher. It is a 5 star story given 1 star editorial attention.
The story itself is another alarming instance of how the Bush administration has abused and neglected the mechanisms of the government designed to provide security while promulgating a
distorted picture of of security threats.
It's not a smooth read. Plame is not a great writer. She is an engaging, intelligent person who appears to have been clever and committed in devising sources of information for the CIA. Joe Wison had a long career in foreign service. One hopes that there will yet be future opportunities to make use of their talents.
As a footnote, the Truthout Web site has pointed out that the currently in-the-news missing communications records in the Executive sector occur in the same time period as the events that led to the Plame exposure.
