Recently released from prison, Alex offers a ride to a hitchhiker, only to have her killed instantly when they are involved in a brutal car accident. Alex then approaches the girl's mother, and the events that unfold dramatically change both his life and those of others around him.

Enjoyed it, a little disturbing submitted by jgetty on December 10, 2010, 12:28pm The accident was tough to watch, but interesting to watch Alex get involved with the family. It was interesting to watch Sigourney's character who is autistic. The movie was a bit melancholy to me, a big sadness, and a lot of thinking, working things out, but the best part was the very end and the snow cake.
