Less than worth it

There's two ways to view the film Less than Zero. One way would be reading the book first, then viewing the film. The second way would be viewing the film without having read the novel. I do not recommend the second way, nor do I recommend this film at all. In my experience, I had seen the film years ago and only remembered it vaguely. After recently reading the book, I decided to give the movie a go again - I thought maybe it would make more sense. What a waste of time.

I hate to really bash a movie, but this is a terrible film. It barely compares to the book, the storyline is COMPLETELY different as well. I guess I could only recommend this film for hardcore Andrew McCarthy, Robert Downey, Jr. and Jami Gertz fans.

Skip this one and just read the book.
