Science and Religion in High School
submitted by sdunav on June 14, 2014, 3:18pm
Quick YA/tween read about a hs freshman who is in trouble with her church and her parents. She really likes her new science lab partner (a geeky boy), and his family. Then some of the church kids in her science class protest the teaching of evolution and push for intelligent design and Mena has to decide how to reconcile her faith and her new-found love for science.
Nice story, nothing inappropriate for younger kids unless you object to talk about gay students, some Christians (including adults) bullying others, and kissing at age 14/15.
