look me in the eye submitted by hcf on July 31, 2014, 1:45pm a humorous story about someone with aspergers

Humanizes Aspergers submitted by amym on August 18, 2014, 1:11pm This was a funny and entertaining book about a man with Asperger's. It's a good description of how he thinks and it really helped me understand Aspbergers. Very interesting.

Memorable Memoir submitted by valerieclaires on August 18, 2014, 2:21pm Sometimes the memoirs of an autistic man, and sometimes just a man's memoir, Look Me in the Eye is filled with the best moment of John Elder Robinson's life so far. He talks about his own struggles with Asperger's Syndrome, even before he had a diagnosis, how it has impacted his life, the work he does as an autism advocate, and his life raising a son with the same diagnosis. On the personal side, he also talks about his work building guitars and doing show-stoppig effects for KISS, his personal relationships, and his love of restoring cars. It's a great memoir in its own right, but with the added factor of his autism, it becomes something good to read to learn more about ASD and adults living with it, especially those diagnosed later in life.

Excellent memoir submitted by juleen on June 16, 2015, 1:33pm Introspective account of an amazing life. Robison tells great stories while helping his audience gain a better understanding of Aspergians.

First-person view of Aspergers submitted by doctorfang on July 26, 2015, 10:52pm The author has lived a fascinating, successful life, and just happens to have Aspergers. He has a wonderful sense of humor, and a rich trove of stories based on his career designing guitars and guitar effects (flaming guitar) for the likes of KISS. Truly an interesting read.
