A Painful marriage in front of strangers submitted by ccrose on August 27, 2019, 2:01pm It’s 1966, a phase of cultural questioning of American marriage. Based on Broadway play by Edward Albee (got a Pulitzer for it). Richard Burton is a middle aged professor and Elizabeth Taylor, his heavily drinking wife. In front of a new faculty couple invited randomly, Martha and George fight, unceasingly and ugly secrets are part of it.
It’s acting at its finest.
