A Beautiful Wilderness submitted by Meginator on August 11, 2021, 4:41pm This short documentary presents a tour of some of Yellowstone National Park’s greatest natural wonders, eschewing its well-known geysers for features such as its backcountry waterfalls, regular forest fires, and wildlife. The footage is beautiful and striking, tempered with human-interest (and animal-interest) stories that make an argument for the importance of maintaining national parks. Though the focus is more on geographic features than wildlife, the documentary does include some hunting scenes and some footage of dead animals; none of this feels gratuitously violent, but it’s good to know going in that it’s there.
