Truth! Justice! Freedom! And a hard-boiled egg! Commander Sam Vimes of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch had it all. But now he's back in his own rough, tough past without even the clothes he was standing up in when the lightning struck. Living in the past is hard. Dying in the past is incredibly easy. But he must survive; he has a job to do.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

The revolution's here-- on CD submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 17, 2012, 1:00pm The 29th in Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, "Night Watch" again brings us the adventures of Ankh-Morpork's City Watch or police force. Like all Pratchett's books, audiences love it. BBC turned this novel into a five-part radio series starring Philip Jackson.
On the anniversary of the city's Glorious Revolution, City Watch Commander Sam Vimes gets caught in a magical time storm that sends him back 30 years to the days of the revolution and so he must lead the revolution while acting honorably enouogh not to corrupt his younger self.
The novel deals with such disturbing topics as torture, which are important for people to understand and contemplate, but younger readers may not be able to handle it. Nonetheless, for those who can stomach it, the novel is engrossing and I highly recommend it and Pratchett's other novels.
