COMMUNITY REVIEWS
This is a good movie but you need to patiently watch it until the end to appreciate it. submitted by Tassos on November 17, 2022, 1:17pm Good movie, hopefully accurately presenting the harsh realities of 11th century Feudal Japan.
Love is blind

A tale of love, sacrifice, and redemption by one of the three masters of classical Japanese cinema (the other two being Ozu & Kurosawa). Relaxed pacing, scene framing, musical score. And the rich gray-tone cinematography is as good as it gets—right up there with Bergman.
In the mood for a traditional Japanese ghost story? Look past “Ringu” and try Mizoguchi’s “Ugetsu.”
