Well written and scholarly--but engaging and entertaining, too. submitted by hathaway1066 on August 11, 2014, 9:43am Rosen is not just laying out the facts but is telling a tale--he introduces information in an artful way, to make people vivid and real rather then dry names out of history. He is also rigorous in terms of sourcing. This book makes me want to read others by this author.
