GREAT MYSTERY!
I've really enjoyed Tana French's 3 books and find it very unique and refreshing how she keeps all the same characters in the books but changes the focus to a different main character in each one. I always love a mystery writer who writes un-guessable endings.
Loved the story, loved the writing
Beautifully written, great characters, important themes, and an ending I found both satisfying and inevitable.
For what it's worth, I'm glad I didn't read the review by Slavewoman before reading the book as I would have been very sad to have a key piece of the ending revealed. (You may want to mark that review as having a spoiler.)

Read it for the Writing
I wanted the story to end differently. It was well written and interesting, and if you're paying attention, you can figure out "whodunnit" about half-way into the book. The back story is the one that is the most hauting, and pulls the reader along, but it never gets resolved, which is very frustrating. This could have been explosive and satisfying, but the author chose to take a different path.
