awesome submitted by fairytale on July 4, 2013, 9:12am This is an incredible book - lots of simple yet delicious recipes. Lots of recipes for sweets but also for savory dishes too. The alphabet cookies are beautiful!

The author makes a big pitch for children not to eat many sweets, but most of the recipes are for sweets. Several include raw egg, which she presents no alternative for those who are "squeamish" about a raw egg. She is Canadian and maybe salmonella is not a concern here. I would suggest pasteurized eggs or egg replacement products (e.g. Egg Beaters) for those whose eggs' safety is unknown.
The interesting thing about the book is that she goes to great pains to be child-safe, so no knives or cooking on the stovetop or anything of that sort. Most of the things are cooked in the oven, so an adult can put it in and take it out for the child.
I have tried several items from the book, and they were good. They make small batches, which is nice, so cookies might call for 1/2 stick of butter or 1 egg, for example, and make 10 cookies, instead of 2 sticks of butter and making 4 dozen.
