The Last Great Flaming Lips Album! submitted by jibkidder on July 23, 2022, 11:02pm My take on this band probably differs than most, I think they were an OK psych college rock band in the 80s, starting with their first two releases which both predate and sound like Nirvana, kept making records without really improving at all for years, then made two great records, "Transmissions..." and this one, which are both solid start to finish and come off as kind of a more stoned, less neurotic "Ok Computer", after which they became both cheezy and famous and preoccupied with not-very-smart gimmicks that nevertheless did very much grow their audience.
