Of historic importance submitted by marielle on July 18, 2012, 5:30pm Have you heard of 4chan? If so, you've only heard of it because of the story behind this manga.

Essentially, this manga is a shoujo romance, but it's based off of a "true" story; that is, a thread written by an anonymous poster on a Japanese forum called 2channel. The thread became so popular it got turned into a novel, a movie, a TV series, and this manga. The story rocketed the forum, 2channel, to popularity, where it eventually got noticed by some Americans who then went on to create an English language version of the site called 4chan (an obvious derivation of the original 2channel name and a play off the Japanese honorific -chan).

The manga itself is enjoyable but not stunning, but as an essential part of internet/otaku history it's a must-read.
