"A teenage girl missing from a small Ozarks town may have been murdered. Hired by local police, Harper locates the girl's body in a nearby forest. But there's more than one corpse in those woods, and the second one leads the police to unfortunate conclusions. Soon Harper and her assistant, her stepbrother Tolliver, are under suspicion. All they want is to get paid and get out of town, but they will have to clear their names first."--Container.

Grave submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 17, 2013, 10:05pm Charlaine Harris' other supernatural mystery series, this one about focuses on Harper. Harper was struck by lightening many years ago and, as a result, has the psychic ability to find corpses and know how they died. She solves numerous murders as a result with the help of her former step-brother Tolliver. She nonetheless must figure out who the killer is and what the motivation was.

This is the first of their adventures and it is well worth seeing it through to the end of the four-book series. This book does not contain vampire, werewolves, fairies or any other supernatural creatures besides the psychic herself. If you are looking for more of the Sookie Stackhouse books but with different characters, this one will disappoint you. If you are able to keep an open mind, though, you'll likely enjoy this one.
